Instructional and Administrative Leadership

ASCL's staff has over two centuries of instructional and administrative leadership experience. ASCL provides professional development to educators, school board members, and the community on current researched-based instructional and administrative leadership practices in a standards-based educational system. Training strategies are designed using scientifically collected data to help modify leadership techniques identified as in need of improvement.

The initial ASCL interactive professional development on Instructional Leadership for Effective Instruction and Positive Behavior in Standards-based Education provides background on instructional leadership:

What is effective instructional leadership in a standards-based education environment?
How do we identify and implement instructional leadership strategies? and
What is the impact of effective instructional leadership on improving instruction and positive behaviors?

Discussions included in this module afford educators the opportunity to revisit their beliefs about instruction, student learning, and standards-based education.

At the end of this module, participants will have:

Developed a personal statement on Instructional Leadership,
Identified and refined shared policies and practices, and
Committed to at least one follow-up activity.
